What do you guys think of this spider?

A wolf spider, maybe?

He has been hanging around behind the panels of the garage door, I snapped these tonight surprisingly far from the garage door but I'm sure it's the same spider because they are both big, about an inch and a half with legs. Spider pics below the cut.

I titled this because my rat, who is named Algernon after the short story character, had to be put down today. She had been struggling with an unknown disease that first made her back legs weak, and then this morning I found her in a coma. It didn't take long until she started to have difficulty breathing as her body started to shut down, so my fiance and I made the decision to end her suffering.

I decided to go to class anyway, even though I kept trying to keep from losing myself, knowing that she won't be there to greet me at the front of her cage when I got back.  Now that I'm home I can cry my eyes out.

Tomorrow I plan on burying her in the garden of my parents' beach house, with the chorus of this song painted on a headstone.

Did anybody else watch 'When a Mother's Love is Not Enough' on BBC1 tonight?.

I watched the first ten minutes before I completely broke down and cried. They featured this 17 year old boy who was born with aspergers syndrome. As his mother asked him for the remote control while they watched a video, he kept hissing 'I hate you, fuck, fuck off, I hate you' and then apologising because he said he couldn't help saying those things. The blank look in the mother's eyes as she ignored the hurtful words he was saying reminded me of my mum and I just sobbed. The whole thing was so close to home.

I'll watch the rest tomorrow.
